Training Courses

The Austin Pets Alive! Training and Education Center is hard at work creating training courses for every shelter job, and for every size shelter in the country.

  • Earn Certificates

    Training Courses are organized by job category. Each job category can be purchased as a bundle, and staff that takes all of the courses in that bundle will earn a certificate. Courses can also be purchased a la carte.

  • Current Course Offering

    The Shelter Essentials course was completed in July 2023 and consists of 15 learning modules. This is meant for frontline staff and covers a variety of basics such as cleaning kennels, how to interact with the public, and intake diversion.

  • Future Courses

    Animal Care Technician, Adoption Counselor, and Shelter Medical Technician, Level 1 certifications are slated for release in the fall of 2023. Intake coordinator, more advanced medical and surgery technician, dog behavior and training, barn cat program, and more will be released in 2024!
